Lylian heirloom clothing has a long history in the state of Louisiana. Originally sold in the Louise shop in the French Quarter, Lylian dates back to the early 1920's. Lylian began as an extension of the Acadian Handicraft Project. A project that put talented seamstresses from Southwest Louisiana in contact with stores and buyers in the New Orleans. Using the intricate technique of French hand sewing, these gifted women created everything from Christening gowns to First Communion dresses.
